Cheryl and Barry Wissler currently operate Clearview Farm Bed and Breakfast. Having grown up on this farm, Barry and Cheryl lived on the adjoining farm for years as the two farms were operated as one. Barry’s parents, Glenn and Mildred Wissler first opened the Bed and Breakfast in 1987. The inn quickly earned a reputation earning the region’s first four diamond rating from AAA and was featured in Country Inn’s magazine.
Many guests would return regularly during different seasons, finding the property not only beautiful but a quiet place to get away. Many were disappointed when the inn was closed for a few years in 2003 until Barry and Cheryl moved onto the property in 2007. Barry’s mother still helps at times but the next generation of innkeepers is continuing the same standard of hospitality and excellence that Clearview has been known for. Cheryl actually worked at Clearview for years while Barry’s parents owned it and still uses many of her recipes and traditions. She loves assisting guests with anything from dinner reservations to directions to local attractions. All guests receive personal attention making the inn feel like a home away from home.
The house has been beautifully restored and lovingly decorated for your comfort and enjoyment. Antiques and period furniture make the house feel like an era gone by. Original floors are highlighted with carefully selected area rugs. All rooms have quality bedding and comfortable seating. A large porch is ideal for relaxing or reading and there are plenty of country roads for leisure walks.
Whether you like antiques, visiting Amish, or shopping at nearby outlet malls, there is plenty to do within a short drive. The inn is only minutes to a waterfowl management area, which is great for bird watching or hiking.
